Overview
Kalia is an associate in Tonkon Torp’s Litigation Department where she focuses her practice on helping private and public entities successfully navigate disputes in state and federal courts. Kalia has substantial experience defending businesses in connection with administrative charges filed with the Bureau of Labor and Industries and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and has handled a broad range of employment matters including discrimination and harassment claims and wage and hour violations.
As an active participant in Portland’s legal community, Kalia is a member of the Oregon Women Lawyers Board of Directors and the Owen M. Panner Inn of Court. In recognition of her professional achievement as a young attorney, she was honored with the 2020 Rising Star designation by Oregon Super Lawyers and was part of the inaugural class of Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch.
Kalia earned her J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2015. Prior to law school, Kalia worked in financial services at JPMorgan Chase and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
Outside of work, Kalia enjoys traveling, sports, and discovering Portland’s kid-friendly restaurant scene with her family.
