Overview
Adam works closely with business owners and their key employees as they maneuver through business transitions. He has assisted clients at every stage of their business life cycle, including corporate formation, compliance, raising capital, and structuring ownership transitions. Adam takes pride in structuring transactions that clients understand and imposing order on chaos.
Prior to joining Tonkon Torp, Adam worked at Karnopp Petersen in Bend, Oregon, where he gained significant business transaction experience and also represented employers and employees in employment-related disputes. He also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Rex Armstrong and the Honorable James Egan of the Oregon Court of Appeals.
Adam is an outdoor enthusiast who spends his free time with his wife and daughters exploring the wonders of the Pacific Northwest. Adam enjoys starting the day with coffee from one of Portland’s great roasters and ending the day with a beer from one of its great breweries.

Get To Know

When Adam Adkin moved to Portland 10 years ago for law school, he made a self-care commitment to balance the long hours of school with time spent outdoors. Today, as an attorney, Adam remains an outdoor enthusiast who takes any chance he can to explore the wonders of the Pacific Northwest with his wife and young daughters. Adam’s elder daughter has enjoyed vistas from all around the region from the top of Black Butte, to Beacon Point, and multiple peaks in between. The next milestone for Adam’s family is to conquer camping and backpacking with a toddler! Like many of us, Adam is hopeful that the many scenic trails along the Columbia Gorge will renew and flourish after the devastating fires of 2017.
