Overview

Sarah is an attorney in Tonkon Torp's Estate Planning Practice Group where she works with clients on the preparation of wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents. Sarah provides strategic legal advice to help her clients achieve success, regularly assisting them in the creation and development of estate and business succession plans through the assessment of assets and goals. Sarah has a significant background in litigation and is experienced in trust and fiduciary disputes.

Prior to joining Tonkon Torp, Sarah was an Assistant Attorney General in the Oregon Department of Justice, where she worked in both the Appellate Division and the Attorney General's Office. Sarah served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable David Schuman of the Oregon Court of Appeals and an extern to the Honorable Ann Aiken in the Federal District Court of Oregon, Eugene. As a law student, Sarah was a fellow in the Wayne Morse Center of Law & Politics and managing editor of the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation.

In December 2015, Tonkon Torp closed a swift and successful arbitration to enforce payment owed to its clients, family members who founded and grew a successful business in the Northwest. In 2012, the clients had worked with Tonkon Torp to sell the company to a large, billion-dollar national entity.
