Tonkon Torp Water Law Expert Addresses International Conference

Tonkon Torp water law attorney Janet Neuman was among a group of prominent experts invited to speak at a two-day international conference in New Delhi, India. The conference addressed access to water and water quality challenges resulting from the world’s population growth, industrialization and urbanization.
Neuman discussed the restoration of natural systems to address water pollution, and presented a case study of water quality trading in the Pacific Northwest. A former law professor at Lewis and Clark Law School, where she also co-directed the Natural Resources Law Institute, Neuman is a Senior Counsel in Tonkon Torp’s Environmental & Natural Resources Practice Group. She is considered one of the foremost water law specialists in Oregon and is nationally-recognized as a water law scholar.
The May 30 and 31, 2013 event, “Realizing the Goal of Water for Life: Lessons from around the world,” was presented by Lewis & Clark Law School and National Law University of Delhi, one of India’s premier law schools.
