5.30.2014
Litigator Steven Wilker was guest speaker at a May 20 luncheon hosted by the Oregon Chapter of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy (ACS) in Portland. Wilker described his appearance before the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this spring, when he argued in favor of the plaintiffs in Wood v. Moss, a First Amendment enforcement issue arising out of the demonstrations in southern Oregon during President Bush's 2004 campaign visit.
Founded in 2001, the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy is a progressive legal organization that works for positive change by shaping debate on important legal and constitutional issues. It is comprised of a rapidly growing network of lawyers, law students, scholars, judges, policymakers and other concerned individuals who wish to make a difference in the constitutional, legal and public policy debates that shape our democracy.
