11.13.2014
On November 5, Tonkon Torp’s Intellectual Property practice group held the final program in a three-part series offered to start-up companies developing or maintaining websites. The event, held at Tonkon’s downtown Portland office, featured attorneys Vicki Ballou, Eric Beach, Jay Huh, and Marco Materazzi speaking on topics related to buying and selling a website. Their presentation covered such issues as representations and warranties, assignment of domain names and related content, exposure related to open source code in website software, and due diligence.
The first program in the series, held September 16, covered website planning and development issues from a legal perspective. The second program, on October 16, focused on important and practical legal considerations of day-to-day operations of a business website.
