Jan Neuman Participates in National Water Law Forum
5.25.2016
Tonkon Torp attorney Janet Neuman participated in a National Water Law Forum held in Portland on May 11-13. The forum, developed by an ad hoc coordinating group, was designed to foster open discussion and innovative thought about current water law and policy issues. Jan was one of only 40 highly experienced water law practitioners, academics, government officials, and technical experts from across the country invited to attend. The group enjoyed an intense and in-depth dialogue about national water supply issues, shortages, and current legal issues.
Jan is Senior Counsel with Tonkon Torp’s Water Law and Environmental & Natural Resources practice groups and a nationally-recognized water lawyer and scholar. She handles water rights transactions, water project development, permitting, and litigation of water rights disputes for both government entities and private sector clients. Jan is a former professor and Associate Dean of Faculty at Lewis & Clark Law School and the author of a comprehensive book on Oregon water law.
