PORTLAND, Ore. (September 29, 2020) Tonkon Torp LLP welcomes Erin Roycroft to the firm as an associate in its Labor & Employment Practice Group. Roycroft joins the firm from the Oregon Court of Appeals, where she served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Scott Shorr for two years. While there, she worked on criminal, civil, and administrative appeals involving a variety of issues such as contracts, insurance, and property disputes.
“When I was considering where to start my practice, Tonkon Torp’s commitment to our community and its reputation as a home-grown Portland firm is something that immediately stood out and drew me in,” said Roycroft.
While a law student, Roycroft served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Michael Simon in the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon and for the Honorable Darleen Ortega of the Oregon Court of Appeals. In addition, she worked as a summer associate for Haglund Kelley LLP, and completed a public interest fellowship at Metropolitan Public Defender. She earned her J.D. summa cum laude from Willamette University College of Law, and her B.A. in English from Pennsylvania State University.
“Erin is a talented young attorney,” shared Kristin Bremer Moore, Chair of the Labor & Employment Practice Group. “The experience she gained during her clerkship and externship with appellate judges is a valuable foundation for the employment law practice she will build at Tonkon Torp.”
