Spencer has been doing law-related work at Tonkon Torp for over 14 years, including eight years of document and file management for a variety of departments before moving into a paralegal position. He joined the Bankruptcy team in 2009, and has worked on over twenty Chapter 11 cases since that time. Spencer has extensive experience preparing debtor's schedules of assets and liabilities, claims reconciliation reports, and short-notice emergency filings.
Spencer was part of the Tonkon Torp team that successfully managed and litigated the Sunwest consolidated cases (Stayton SW Assisted Living LLC). In that proceeding, he coordinated the preparation and completion of approximately 160 settlement agreements involving about 1,500 investors. Additionally, he provided significant support in the litigation of approximately 120 separate adversary proceedings, which named a total of 1,347 defendants.
In the Oregon Contractors Workers Compensation Trust, Inc., case that was filed in 2011, Spencer coordinated the filing of an adversary proceeding litigation case that named 586 defendants to collect unpaid workers compensation premiums.
